About
C.M.P. Kimball didn’t set out to chase a murder. But like Danielle Campbell, her lead character, she began with an idea, research, and a memory that didn’t sit right. FABRICATION: Murder Is Real was born from a real unsolved crime—one that kept haunting her. Through careful writing, Kimball brings the pieces together, not to accuse, but to remember. She doesn’t claim to solve the case—but she gives it the space it deserves. She writes for the family still waiting, the stories still quiet, and the readers willing to think. With FABRICATION, she does just that. One voice, and a story that won’t let go.
Kimball brings a uniquely artistic perspective to the world with formal training in fine arts and a career spanning education, publishing, and gallery ownership. Her debut novel FABRICATION: Murder is Real is infused with both visual precision and narrative depth as a mystery thriller based on a real murder.
Born with an innate talent for art, Kimball studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts on scholarship before earning her BFA in Art Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she also discovered her passion for creative writing. Her European travels through France, England, Ireland, and Italy have influenced both her artistic and literary sensibilities.
After teaching art in public schools, Kimball’s professional journey led her through the publishing and printing industries, where her attention to detail and color correction expertise developed skills that now manifest in her vividly descriptive writing style. Her life on Cape Cod has provided introspective and the joy of writing and painting.
A mother of four daughters, Kimball has balanced family life, community involvement, and artistic pursuits throughout her career. Her unique combination of visual artistry and storytelling appeal not just to the mind, but to all the senses.
While FABRICATION: Murder is Real marks Kimball’s debut as a mystery novelist, her creative range extends far beyond the thriller genre. She is currently completing several additional projects, including novels, children’s stories with original illustrations, poetry, song lyrics, and screenplays.
